A special shout-out to all of our incredibly talented students and teachers who performed at the Rosewood Crawfish Festival earlier this month—you guys rocked!

Travel the musical world with the Academy this Summer! Each week in June, July, and August, the Culture Choir will be studying music from West Africa, Latin America, and East Asia. Classes will be held at both the Irmo Music Academy and the Lexington School of Music, and spots are open to students of all three academies, ages 10 and up. Excited to "Sea" You Raffle! For the summer months, when a student comes in for their lesson, they write their name down on a paper fish.  They can put the fish in either the Month Raffle Fishbowl or the Summer Raffle Fishbowl. 

At the end of each summer month, we will draw a name to receive a gift card to a local business (cafe or ice cream shoppe, etc). The Summer Raffle only gets pulled once at the end of the summer, and it will be for a free month of lessons and retail certificate! If students participate in Spirit Month in July, they receive an extra fish that week!

Our 2026 Summer Recitals are quickly approaching! In case you missed it, recitals will be held at the W.W. Hootie Johnson Performance Hall in the Darla Moore School of Business at the University of South Carolina, located at 1014 Greene St, Level 1. Recital dates are set for Saturday, June 13 through Sunday, June 14th, and Friday, June 26th through Sunday, June 28th.

The Columbia Arts Academy, Lexington School of Music, and Irmo Music Academy are the only Midlands music schools where students earn colorful wristbands, trophies, and certificates through the patented Musical Ladder System®, created by Academy Director Marty Fort and used nationwide. Some schools offer trophies and certificates, but none excite students like the Musical Ladder System® wristbands they proudly show off to friends.
